In 1988 Clover began as a family
owned Australian research-based company dedicated to providing
quality lipid based products which enhance the health and well-being
of the community.
The company developed cost-efficient delivery systems for Long Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids as well as their application in infant nutrition, nutritional supplements and functional foods. Innovations in manufacturing techniques, some jointly conducted with Food Science Australia, have resulted in several international patents for products and processes.
Clover Corporation was publicly listed on
the 25th November 1999 on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The company has evolved from being a Research and Development,
manufacturing and marketing company to concentrating on forming
strategic
research relationships to develop new products and technology.
What has not changed is the company’s strong links
to the area of improving human health through nutrition.
During November 2002 Clover entered into a joint venture with the Queensland based Food Spectrum Group of companies. The incorporated joint venture was 70% owned by Clover and was named Nu-Mega Ingredients Pty. Limited. Nu-Mega allowed the alignment of Clover’s food technology-related intellectual property, manufacturing expertise and customer base was Food Spectrum Group’s food ingredient management expertise, applications technology and specialist product development skill.
This joint venture ceased in November 2007 when Clover acquired the remaining 30% of Nu-Mega to make it a wholly owned subsidiary
